FREEJoin + post for $0 — every student gets 10 free credits to start messaging.
Credits, not subscriptions

Free to start. Then just credits.

Join, post, browse, and match — all free, with 10 credits on the house. You only spend credits on the actions that help you stand out. Once they’re used, top up to keep going — no subscription, nothing auto-renews. Roomster charges $30/month to do less.

You start with 10 free credits. Use them on the actions below. When they run out, top up to keep messaging, Super Liking, and boosting — you only ever pay for what you use.

Why credits, not subscriptions?

Roomster charges $30/month. Bunky charges $20/month. Most roommate apps lock messaging behind a subscription that auto-renews until you remember to cancel.

That works for them because anyone with an email can join — they need the recurring revenue to fight bots. Crashmates verifies every .edu against the federal IPEDS database at the front door, so we don’t need a subscription. You get 10 free credits, and after that you pay only for the few actions that help you stand out. No monthly bill, nothing auto-renewing.

The FAQ.

Is it free to start?
Yes — joining, posting, browsing, and matching are all free, and you get 10 free credits on the house. No subscription and no card to sign up. You only spend a credit on the actions that help you stand out (below).
What happens when my free credits run out?
You top up — buy more credits to keep messaging, Super Liking, and boosting. No subscription, nothing auto-renews, and credits never expire. You only ever pay for what you use, when you use it.
What actually costs a credit?
Sending the first message in a new conversation (1 credit), a Super Like (1 credit), or boosting a listing to the top of the feed for 3 days (3 credits). Everything else — posting, browsing, matching, and replying once a chat is open — is always free.
Why credits instead of a subscription?
Roomster ($30/mo) and Bunky ($20/mo) charge a recurring subscription because anyone can join — they need it to fight bots. We verify every .edu at the front door, so instead of a monthly bill you just get 10 free credits and pay only for the few standout actions once those run out. Nothing auto-renews.
Do credits expire?
Never. Buy them once, use them whenever. We don’t expire credits to pressure you into buying more.
